My name is Nila Haran. I'm a human being, living in this beautiful (& freezing 😜) piece of the Earth, called Toronto, Canada.
As my “first” post, I decided to do a Little Who, what and why of me 😊
Here goes….
My life revolves around 5 of my most favorite things; Family, Food, Nature, Art & Beauty.
I am a mom to 2 absolutely magical little boys and wife to one of the most gifted wedding and portrait photographers of this decade. (@divinemethodphoto)
I am a huge foodie. I love to eat and (used to love) cook. Having 2 very picky eating kids under 4 has definitely made cooking more of a chore - but I'll share my journey in this new “mom cook” territory with you guys & hopefully start enjoying cooking again. I balance my foodie side with some amateur fitness 😜 I'm excited to take you on that journey with me.
I feel the most at home when I'm outdoors. I always feel a very very deep connection with the universe and nature. There is this inexplicable ache in my soul when I think of the universe. I'm totally convinced that in my previous birth I was either a mermaid or a forest fairy 😅 My favorite places to be in nature? by the ocean at night or in a forest during the day. Random Fact: I've written love letters to the ocean 🙈 (& no, not when I was a kid…no, not a dare)…
I'm a self taught makeup artist and I've been privileged to pursue my passion as a career for the last 11 years. From a very young age, I was obsessed with all things Beauty. My mom was my biggest influence as a kid, and still is to this day 😊 I love makeup as my medium of expression because of its transformative powers. And I don't mean the physical transformation that happens, but the mental and emotional one. I think that Makeup gives the wearer the confidence to tackle anything that comes their way. At least it does for me. If I'm having a crappy day, I just put on some lipstick and get things done 😎
And lastly. Number five; Art is my life. Art is life. Art is existence.
So that's pretty much me in a nutshell. You'll see a little bit of all of that on here.
I am the least formal person in the world, formality (& normality 😜) bore me. I hate small talk. I love deep dives into other peoples souls. So it may get a little deep and weird out here. Lol just a heads up.
